Bankers in India: Corporate Governance and Ethical Leadership
Abstract
Banking in India involves difficult decisions regarding being conservative and risk averse, or liberal with much greater propensity to take risks. It boils down to how the bankers, individuals, make decisions which impact and are impacted by the external business environment and also by closely held and practised ethical values. The better the values, the lesser is the need for corporate governance. The note examines the black letter law and certain recent events.
