Evaluation of Participatory Irrigation Management in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh

Abstract

Management of water across the country and amongst millions of users in a sustainable manner has become a major challenge. Participatory irrigation management has been actively promoted by the government to overcome many deficiencies and improve the efficiency. The study based on an extensive farmer and institutional survey examines the impact and outcomes of the approach and draws lessons for future government policy and action.
