Feasibility of Ad-hoc Peer-to-Peer Mobile Mesh Networks for Rural Connectivity
Abstract
While mobile usage in developing countries is on an exponential growth, the penetration in rural areas is very low owing to high operational and infrastructure costs. Ad-hoc peer- to-peer mesh networks have been proposed as a cost effective solution for connectivity. This study will evaluate the viability of such a proposal.
