During the first few years of its inception, an organization faces a plethora of challenges. Lack of resources, low visibility & high uncertainty are some of the issues faced by the start-ups. Apart from these challenges, HR challenges are a key impediment to the success of these organizations. This study, thus, focuses on the HR challenges faced by the start-ups in two business domains – hi-tech and ‘for-profit’ social enterprises. The report is based on the primary research conducted within the two domains by analyzing the HR practices of a few organizations in each space. The report contains an analysis of the HR practices followed in start-up organizations and considers the various aspects of the HR processes for analysis. Also, the report contains a comparison of the HR practices in the two domains and presents the convergence and divergence points. Lastly, it contains a few recommendations for both the sectors to help them deal with the challenges in a better way.en_US
