The aim of this project is to identify hard points in curriculum by data analysis and map them against the innovation projects by teachers that can be scaled for further development. These innovation projects will help improve the quality and attendance in government elementary schools. The first step was building understanding of the problems faced by the children in government primary school. The hard point for each class (2-8) and the education index was identified based upon the data analysis of “Gunotsav”- exam conducted by Govt. of Gujarat. The second step was to dig deeper and analyze the district level trend of the hard point, to arrive at section/part of the course where urgent attention is required. The point-biserial correlation and discriminant index were used as the identification parameters. The next step was to find out an education index, which gauges the difference in quality at district level. lt is based upon the formula developed which takes into consideration of performance of students in each class. Further, a field study was conducted in primary school at Rajkot, the schools were visited to gauge how innovation impacts the quality of education, not just in that school but also in nearby schools. The final step was to screen the innovation which can be mapped against the identified issues in the data analysis.en_US
