CAT annuls 2013 selection of 13 officers by UGC

Abstract

NEW DELHI: Days before the University Grants Commission chairperson Professor Ved Prakash completes his term, a Central Administrative Tribunal order has cast a shadow on a key decision taken during his term.

The tribunal has in an order dated February 27 quashed the appointment of 17 education officers by the apex higher education regulator in 2013, and rebuked the UGC for violating procedure and vitiating the selection process.
