dc.description.abstractThis study attempts to undertake bibliometric analysis of the research publications of Gujarat University during the ten-year period between 2004 and 2013. The data for this study was extracted from SCOPUS and included a total of 760 publications that were attributed to authors affiliated to Gujarat University. The publication data was analysed with respect to the type of publications where 83% are journal articles. The paper also analysed the publication trend of Gujarat University and found that from 2008 onwards there was a steady increase in the number of publications. The other aspects that were identified in the paper were the most prolific authors, collaborative authorship patterns and trends, most preferred publications, and so on. The collaboration was found to be the highest in the year 2012 at 0.70 based on the modified collaboration coefficient. The most preferred journal for publication by Gujarat University faculty was ActaPoloniaePharmaceutica-Drug Research and the most cited author of Gujarat University was P.S. Srivastav, while V.K. Jain had the best average citations per paper.en_US
