Problems in implementation of yield management in hotel industry

Abstract

Abstract Yield Management is a technique finding increasing applications in various industries like the airline industry, hotel industry etc. for optimal allocation of resources to get maximum profits. The hotel industry has a widespread use of this management tool, but its implementation has strict data requirements as well as efficient systems in place for it to be successfully adopted. This project tries to study the room allocation and pricing systems in a hotel in South India , study the problems in the system the requirements of implementing a yield management system as well as suggest ways in which it can be applied in the hotel.
