Start-ups growth in India was unprecedented in the past decade due to its innovative ways to solve complex problems of the market. They have correctly identified needs of the society and reduced pain points of customers. But success rates of start-ups to be successful is very small, only 0.1% of registered start-ups taste success and only few of them succeed in long run. Though in literature, key success parameters for a startup can be found but when which success factor matters the most, it has not been identified in literature. For big organizations, focus area with respect to age of organization has been discussed in detail but same cannot be applied on start-ups due to complex markets, innovative operations model and dynamic decision making. In this work, we have identified 10 successful start-ups of India and performed a qualitative assessment of decisions taken by their founders at multiple stages of the start-up life. The whole journey of a start-up from ideation to success can be divided into 10 stages namely focus areas for them. We present 10x2 start-up success framework which includes 2 questions each founder must ask at different stages of its growth which have been developed by key notes and learnings from “How to start a start-up” (HTSAS) videos of ten founders organized at IIM Ahmedabad.en_US
