dc.description.abstractOur objective is to study the influence of media on the LGBT community. Media, here in this context, refers to the new age media such as online newspapers, blogs, online forums, social media etc. We will try to gauge what role does this media play in the identity of the LGBT and what are the public perception of people of the LGBT community and how does various content on media affect their perception. This will be done through a technique called sentiment analysis on popular social media sites to gauge the people’s opinion on various content dealing with LGBT issues. We will also be Interviewing and talking to people directly associated with the LGBT community to gather different views and opinion. This would include people who themselves identify as LGBT or people who are actively working in organization or groups related to LGBT people.en_US
