dc.description.abstract | Crowdfunding is an initiative undertaken to raise funding for a project by collecting small investments from a large number of people. This is typically done over the internet through a multi-sided platform which serves as the network orchestrator. It connects the project initiator who is requesting for the loans and the lenders who are interested in contributing to the cause (Andrea Ordanini, 2013). The platform brings these two parties together and enables collection and disbursal of money. Crowdfunding is used to fund various for profit projects, entrepreneurial ventures, medical support, personal initiatives, as well as social causes. | en_US |
