Between 1919 and 2008, Manchester City spent almost €260 million in bringing in players. In the 12 years since 2008, when they were taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group, they have splashed over €1.7 billion (and a net spend of almost €1.3 billion). The money spent has clearly translated into success, with the club winning 4 Premier League titles (including the 2017-18 season where the team scored a record 100 points), 2 FA Cups and 4 League Cups. In 2018-19, they became the first English side to win the domestic treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.en_US
