Analysis and comparison of public cloud computing platforms
Abstract
Cloud computing has become immensely popular among companies and developers in recent years. Customers seek cloud computing services to outsource their computation and storage needs on an on-demand basis. Compared to developing these capabilities in-house, cloud computing offers an advantage in cost, flexibility, and reliability. A growing number of companies provide cloud computing services, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Computing, IBM Cloud, Rackspace, VMWare, etc. These providers offer a variety of options differing in pricing, performance, and features. The providers also have differentiation in terms of PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS offerings.
