In the context of increasing dependency on oil imports and rising environmental concern, the need for sustainable solutions provide a favorable condition for electric mobility ecosystem and hence these are beginning to see traction in the Indian market. This aim of the project is to identify economic and social challenges in the path and study the various factors affecting the Indian electric mobility ecosystem to propose a suitable strategy to move forward with a full-scale implementation. The study includes assessment of regulatory and techno-commercial aspects of setting up infrastructure to review the best practices and address the challenges of emerging sector. It will attempt to identify the multi-stakeholder initiative required for the development of sustainable mobility system and various strategies presently outlined for the introduction of electric vehicles in India on a full-scale implementation. It will further suggest a suitable strategy based on the factors affecting the EV industry and the Indian automotive market. The report is planned as follows: 1. Comparative study of auto industry in India and US/UK/China, where the implementation of EV’s have been successful. 2. A survey analysis on the willingness to buy electric vehicles to understand its reception among the adopters. 3. The role of central and state government to act as facilitators and other major stakeholders to fuel the growth of electric vehicles and identify the micro and macro factors that can potentially affect the adoption and growth of electric mobility ecosystem. 4. Viability assessment for setting up charging station and gap analysis for reducing overall cost of operation and risk due to lower demand and proposing strategy.en_US
