Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW) is a participative pricing strategy in which the customer is given an option to pay whatever price he/she deems fit for the product or service in consideration. This pricing scheme has been a success in some cases across the globe. In this study we aim to study the PWYW pricing mechanism in India and conclude if it can work under certain conditions. We test several hypotheses about PWYW in India based on primary research including focused interviews and a survey and an onsite experiment. We then make our recommendations based on our observations and statistical results for the implementation of PWYW in India.en_US
