dc.description.abstractDefamation is the act of injuring a said person's reputation by making statements about them that are false when observed by a common neutral person. Any lies, incorrect or unprivileged statements that are written or spoken deliberately, intentionally to damage someone's reputation is known as defamation. The core concept is of property rights and a man's reputations is considered as their private property and any damage caused to the same is punishable by law. There are two categories of defamation. Libel is written defamation – Includes printed, typed material or images as well published and circulated to public (includes internet-based systems as well); spoken defamation is called slander.en_US
