dc.description.abstractIndia has the second-largest arable land in the world and agriculture contributes 16% to India’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product). The ector is a source of livelihood for 58% of the country’s population and has witnessed a CAGR of 7.5% between 2015-20191. The sector provides products that are the major source of food supply to India’s entire population of 1.3 billion. A number of important industries in India such as food processing industries, jute and cotton textiles, plantation (rubber, tea, coffee, etc), cottage industries depend on the agriculture sector for the requirement of raw material. In terms of exports, India is the tenth-largest exporter of agricultural produce in the world. All this facts and figure indicates the importance of agriculture on country’s economy.en_US
