dc.description.abstractSwachh Survekshan is annual cleanliness survey where cities are assessed and ranked based on various cleanliness parameters. The first survey was launched in 2016 with 73 cities. Now, it has been scaled to more than 4000 cities. It has been called as the largest cleanliness survey in the world. The survey is also unique in the way it involves citizens. Citizen feedback is a major component of the survey. More than 25% of score is as assigned based on citizen’s assessment. The participation of citizens has grown exponentially from 1 Lakh citizens in 2016 to 1.9 Crore in 2020. Further, the survey also intends to encourage citizens in following cleanliness and waste management practices though promotional activities.en_US
