Abstract
The automobile industry of India rank 4ht largest in the world. Indian automobile industry has over 210 million cars on the road. India has shown its dedication to switch to electric vehicles and is part of the Electric Vehicle Initiative under the global Clean Energy Ministerial. The nations that are associated with this initiative have endorsed the ‘EV30@30’ campaign, whose objective is to reach EV sales to 30 percent in the automobile sector. India plans to achieve a sales penetration of 70 percent for commercial cars, 30 percent for private cars, 40 percent for buses & eight percent for two and three-wheelers by 2030 [1]. This transition to EVs will help India potentially reduce annual crude import by 7 billion per year by 2030. This could also result into savings of 846 million tons of net CO2 emissions over the sold vehicles
