dc.description.abstractThe public sector undertakings in India have come under heavy criticism for inefficient management and low profitability. In view of the importance these undertakings command in the Indian economy, the author has done a detailed study of the productivity and efficiency of factors of production, and has concluded that the undertakings have, on the whole, performed better than the economy.
