dc.description.abstractThe Lakshadweep administration established a canning factory for tuna fish in the Minicoy Island in 1969 to achieve various socio economic objectives. A review in 1986 indicated that the factory was running in a loss because of low sales. The Lakshadweep administration faced the issue of utilizing the resources of the union territory for improving employment and the overall economy of the territory. It was concerned with the future of the factory.en
