This Case focuses on the choice for system upgradation at the Secunderabad Passenger Reservation System. This is set in the context of increasing demand in the Secunderabad PRS, due to growth in Secunderabad based reservations and networking with other centres. Secunderabad based reservations would go up not only because of increasing traffic at Secunderabad but also due to two other train starting stations being made part of the system. The context for networking is further complicated by the fact that the Secunderabad PRS is on a Cyber system while the other PRS centres are on VAX systems.en
