This note, intended as a basis for class discussion, presents the scenario as of the late 80s in the global market for software, and outlines the structure and competition forces in the market. It gives a review of India’s competition, and profiles of Indian software exporters. The note briefly presents relevant government policies and schemes to promote exports.
