dc.description.abstract	The case provides information on the Information Technology development and applications in Egypt, and the initiatives taken by the Egyptian Government to promote the use of IT. It discusses the setting up of the cabinet Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) in 1985-86, and its growth during the next seven years. Some of the important projects taken up by the IDSC are described in detail. Finally, a few of the human resource development practices of this centre are outlined.	en
