The pattern of financial leverage: a cross-section study of listed Indian companies

Abstract

The study has two objects: (i) to ascertain the corporate managers' attitudes about the use of leverage, and (ii) to examine, in the light of the attitudes so revealed, the industrial pattern, trend and volatilities, of leverage, and the impact of size, profitability and growth on leverage.
