Wage disparity and human capital accumulation

Abstract

When the acquisitions of skills and technological change have mutually reinforcing effects the wage gap between skilled and unskilled workers increases. The cost of education is a deterrent to investment in skills that can be overcome if there is strong complementarity between skills and technology.
